Birth of our newest members – Goats!

A look at goats from a “Cattleman’s” View
We started a new project at ABM over the summer – raising meat goats. In August 400 does (female goats) and 12 bucks (male goats) were delivered to the ministry.

Merit in “Merit Reports” by Beth Goodman
One of the classroom incentives to encourage excitement about school is the merit program. Students can earn merits by: scoring a 90% or higher on PACE tests, memorizing and reciting scripture verses, and writing reports. Every other Friday the students can cash in their merits for candy or snacks at the Merit Store.

As we approached the cow’s pen, we saw a young lady sitting on a stool. Her hands were moving faster than our eyes could follow. She was literally a professional at milking cows.

Much to our delight, the girls here at ABM took a field trip to a Mennonite school. As expected, their place of education was very different from a public school, yet very similar to our own here at ABM.

Pick, Wash, Snap…Enjoy!!
While visiting a Mennonite family on their farm, they showed us the many crops in their garden. There was a huge variety including: corn, berries, flowers, tomatoes, peppers, and green beans.

Send a bag of Candy

“Octoberfest” is an alternative for Halloween. We will be enjoying a day full of fun-filled activities, cookout & bonfire. And of course it would not be a fun day without all that candy! If you can each send a bag of mix candy to help us with this event, we would really appreciate it. -

The Pig’s Pen
We got the pigs (6 of them) when they were all pretty small. They’ve grown really fast along with their appetite. The biggest one, we named it “Miss Piggy”, she is very mean, and the smallest one we call Sausage, and he is our favorite.

In May, several girls took a trip to the nursing home to help make their Mother’s more special by serving them.

Pig Roast
4th of July was great! We roasted a pig that took several hours to cook. I’ve never done anything like this before. It got done about 2:00 a.m.

Fence Post By The Dozen
It all began on Friday, June 26th, when we found the red trailer waiting for us with 90 eight-foot long fence posts. These posts along with some high-tensile wire were soon to become our new best friends.
