From One School to Another
Much to our delight, the girls here at ABM took a field trip to a Mennonite school. As expected, their place of education was very different from a public school, yet very similar to our own here at ABM. The students there were divided into two different classrooms, first through third grade in one room and fourth through eighth grade in another. In the upstairs classroom, the teacher met with the individual grade levels to discuss their daily lessons. While at their desks, the students were free to complete their own work which was written on a chalkboard. Much like LCA, they were allowed to do their work at their own pace. We visited the downstairs classroom just as they were being dismissed. The young children, however, were gracious enough to sing us a beautiful song even though they were excited about getting out of school to go home. Seeing the simple lifestyle of these people really made me grateful for the everyday luxuries I take for granted. I hope that we are given the opportunity to go and visit them again!
