Feeding the cows

At ABM we have the unique opportunity of raising livestock.  One of our favorite animals to raise are cattle.

Goat

Recently ABM Ministries purchased a 10-week old baby goat from Scapegoat Ranch in Kirksey, KY.  He is a black, brown, and white-spotted “Nigerian Dwarf” named Obadiah. He is a top-quality buck that we will breed with our other goats in the fall. In the meantime, we’ve given him his own little pen next to them. By: Drew Y.

A Baby born at ABM Ministries

A few weeks ago, there was a baby born right in ABM’s backyard. Yes, you heard right, a baby!

Feeding the cows

While students are here at ABM ministries, the staff are not just helping students with their issues, they want to help students get acquainted to life experiences. One of the ways that the staff does this, is teaching us how to take care of the cattle on the property.

 Dear Reader,

I am going to tell you about the little chicks that we have.  About a month ago we got six chicks. They are multicolored. We got two golden ones, two black ones, and two black ones with yellow on their heads. Last Saturday we got six more. I don't remember what their colors are. I claimed the two black ones. Their names are Rosa and Harriet. I can tell the difference between them because Rosa has red on her beak and some on her forehead. They are cute and cuddly. Well, that's what Mrs. Beth thinks, Mr. Reed, her husband, thinks the complete opposite.
